How To Support National Wheaten Rescue’s Mission
Foster
Foster homes offer safe temporary housing for rescued Wheatens, can facilitate necessary recovery time if a dog requires veterinary care before being placed, and can enable a more thorough evaluation of a dog’s forever home needs.
Volunteers who foster a rescued Wheaten for NWR have completed both a NWR Foster Home Application and a Foster Home Volunteer Agreement and been approved by National Wheaten Rescue to provide interim care and housing. The NWR Waiver of Liability form will also be required prior to placement of any rescue in your home. Instructions about how to complete and submit that form when needed are located on our FORMS page.
Should we need to foster a dog in your area, one of our board members will call you to get updated information about your current situation, availability, and level of interest. Thank you for considering helping us provide this vital service!
Transport A Wheaten Rescue
Could you help with transporting a rescued Wheaten? We often need drivers to transport our rescues to a foster home or a new forever home and we may need a driver in your state.
If you are interested in volunteering, the first step is to enter your information into our driver applicant data base by completing the NWR Volunteer Driver Application linked below. If we have a need to help transport a Wheaten in your area, one of our board members will contact you to inquire about your availability to help a specific dog. If you are available, you will be asked to complete and submit both the NWR Volunteer Driver Agreement and the NWR Waiver of Liability forms and submit them to rescue@nationalwheatenrescueinc.org.
